E Rady (b. 1996, Sarasota, FL) is a Syrian-American transdisciplinary visual artist who utilizes performance, video, and installation to critically examine Queer identity, ethnicity, and nationalism within the imperial landscape of the United States. Their performance philosophy centers on placing the body into a circumstance which acts as a vessel to explore and challenge notions of truth, agency, power, and the ability to resolve.
Their art practice functions as both an elucidation and healing of the self —- unraveling the systems they have grown up in and inviting others to share a space in contemplating the intersections of the self and systemic forces.
E Rady has recently shown a film at Simian in Copenhagen, Denmark, as part of the gallery’s video library titled, Web of Support. Their most recent performance was at Brief Histories in New York, as part of a performance series, Text 2 Speech.
They are currently pursuing an MFA at Hunter College in New York City.
